Our Story

A family built on
love & compassion

Aasha Bhavan was founded in 2008 by Sri. Venkata Rao and a small group of volunteers who believed that no child should grow up without love, and no elder should spend their final years in loneliness.

What began as a small shelter with 8 children has grown into a thriving community of 115 souls — children finding their wings and elders sharing their wisdom — living together as one large, joyful family.

"When the children sing with the grandparents, and the grandparents smile with tears of joy, we know our work is complete."

Unconditional Care

Every resident is treated as our own family member, without exception.

Education First

All 68 children are enrolled in quality schools — free of cost.

Health & Wellness

On-site nurse, monthly doctor visits, and a yoga instructor for elders.

Transparent Impact

Annual audited reports published. Every rupee accounted for.

Stories of Hope

Words from our family

"
Aasha Bhavan gave me a mother when I had none. Today I am in engineering college, and I visit every month to teach the younger children. This place is my heart.
"
After my children moved abroad, I felt completely alone. Here I found warmth, purpose, and 47 new grandchildren who call me Nanna every single day.
"
I've been volunteering here for 3 years. The way the elderly and children interact — it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I come every Sunday now.
